So many business owners come to me (around tax time) suddenly realizing there is something wrong with the way they have done the previous year’s books. They think because they are using QuickBooks everything is automatically correct. Some business owners feel since they took Accounting 101 in college they can take care of their own bookkeeping and do not want the expense of paying a professional.
I tell these new clients – You started your business because you are really good at something. I also point out the time they spend doing their own bookkeeping is time away from working their own business or doing something they enjoy away from work. I have a degree in Business Management, a Certificate in Bookkeeping from The American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (aipb.org), and I am a QuickBooks ProAdvisor. I am also certified in QuickBooks Online.
